The Media collection includes feature films and documentaries in a broad range of subjects in many languages in Humanities and Social Sciences: Communications, History, Theater, Literature, Political Science, International Relations, Business Administration, Sociology, Art, Theater, Opera and more.
The collection includes approximately 7000 DVD’s and videos, about 3000 compact discs and 30,000 records.
Databases containing documentary films Filmakers Library Online, operas, Opera in Video, plays, Theatre in Video, and music Naxos Music Library are accessible by clicking on the above links. All titles in the databases can be found individually in the library catalog.
The Media Department provides a wide range of resources for instructional and research needs. Instructors may reserve one of our four classrooms with seating capacities of 15, 53, 54 and 90 seats. The screening rooms are equipped with internet access, USB and laptop connections and videorecording and DVD players.
In addition, there is a viewing room with 24 individual internet workstations from which databases and the library catalog are accessible. They are equipped with state-of-the art HD and Blu-ray screens, VCR players, headphones, turntables and DVD and CD players.
Computer use is available to Hebrew University patrons only.
Reservations and Circulation/Media Reservation Form
Although reservations are not required, bookings may be made for both workstations and material in the Media and Music Collections. Classrooms, however, should be ordered in advance. Use our Media Reservation Form.
Make bookings for materials in the Media/Music collections
The Media Department lends only DVD’s marked in the catalog for one day circulation.
They must be returned by 10 a.m. the following morning (Sundays until 11:00)
Fines for late returns will be charged at a rate of 10 NIS per day.
Audio CD’s and videocassettes do not circulate.
