Remote Access
Remote access to the University libraries’ electronic resources, including databases, electronic journals (ejournals), and electronic books (ebooks) is provided to Hebrew University students and faculty through the Samba VPN service.

Connecting to the Internet

After creating a personal account and a password, there are two methods of connecting to the Remote Access Service:

1. Using Samba Web VPN, without installing the program. This service allows access to some of the University's electronic resources.

2. Installing Samba VPN Client: https://samba.huji.ac.il/webvpn

The installation of the Samba VPN Client program allows access to all of the University’s online services. This is the recommended method.

Wireless Access to the Internet
The four campuses have several wireless networks:
HUJI guest – an open network available for guests that does not allow access to the university’s online resources.
Eduroam – an international project that allows access to electronic material using the username and password provided by the Hebrew University.
HUJI-Dorm – a network that exists in some of the Hebrew University dormitories, which requires a username and password.

Remote Access Service

Remote access to the library’s electronic resources, which include databases, electronic journals and e-books is possible for the university community by using the SAMBA VPN service.

Remote Access Registration

Registration to the remote access service is made through The Authority for Computation, Communication and Information of the Hebrew University, in this web address: https://so.cc.huji.ac.il/rap/

Connecting

After creating your password and username, there are two ways to connect to the remote access service:

1) Without software installation, through the web page: https://samba.huji.ac.il/webvpn.

The service provides only partial access to university resources.

2) By using the Samba VPN Client software.

Using the software allows access to all university online resources, and is the recommended method.

Wireless Internet

In all four campuses there are several wireless networks:

HUJI-Guest: an open network available to guests, and does not allow access to online university resources.

Eduroam: an international project which allows access to networks in any university with username and password.

HUJI-Dorm: can be found in some of the student dorms, requires username and password.

Access to Personal Files

It is possible to access files saved in the faculty from home.

Connect to https://mydesktop.huji.ac.il/portal/webclient/index.html#/, enter your library username and password.

Registration for remote access to library databases from a Hadassah computer must be done directly with the Hadassah Technical Support

Education and Social Work Library

There are 40 computer workstations throughout the Library, located in all 3 floors.

Also, there are many electrical outlets near the work stations for use in laptop computers.

The library also has a laptop that may be borrowed for 3 hours intervals, and 7 sets of headphones which also may be borrowed for 3 hour at a time.

Mobile Printing

Print jobs may be sent both within and from outside the campus via the internet. This fee-based service requires sending an email to:

Payment is by credit card only.

 

 

Library of Agriculture, Food and Environment

Remote Access
To access the University databases, electronic journals and electronic books from home, you need a username and password.
Registration for Hebrew University's remote services is done via the University's RAP site, which is maintained by the Computer Authority. 
You can register, change your password, recover a lost password, or update user details.
After registration you can connect to Hebrew University servers via Samba VPN service 
Follow the instructions to install the "anyconnect" file on your computer. The proper connection is VPN Client.

Accessing Personal Files
The material saved in personal folder, can be accessed from home. Connect to MyDesktop, enter the username and password used in campus.

Remote Access to Faculty Computers
You can connect to campus computers from home and work as if you are here. This way you can use software without installing on your home computer.

You can connect as a guest, or as a Hebrew University student.
For the second option, the username and password for remote access (Samba) are required
